Celebrate B Corp Month

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Our most challenging problems cannot be solved by governments and nonprofits alone. By harnessing the power of business, B Corps commit to positively impact all stakeholders – workers, communities, customers, and our planet.

March means #BCorpMonth - and this year we'll be showing you what it means to go beyond business as usual. As a Certified B Corp, we use our business as a force for good, putting people and the planet first. We are lucky to work with over 40 B Corp brands whom we wanted to highlight on this page. So strap in, and get ready to read the wonderful stories from all our B Corp brands.

Dash Water

Here at DASH Water, we create delicious fruit infused water with simple, sustainable ingredients. By rescuing real wonky fruit that others say no to, we’re able to make natural soft drinks with no sugar, no calories, and no sweetener. From the knobbly peaches in our peach sparkling water to the squashed mangos that go into our mango water, our misshapen fruit is what makes our soft drinks so special. No farmer wants to see their hard work go to waste, but at the moment that’s exactly what’s happening!

Up to 40% of fruits and veg grown in the UK going to waste… It’s a seriously frightening statistic for a serious problem that needs to be at the forefront of our minds when we choose what we eat and drink. At DASH we judge our ingredients on taste alone - looks never come into it. So while we are fussy about flavour we don’t care if it’s bumped, curved, broken or squashed. We want to do our bit to fight food waste so by saying yes to produce that others say no to, we make drinks that taste delicious and in a small way help raise awareness about the big issue of waste. One bashed up berry, curly cucumber, and lopsided lemon at a time.

DASH has joined the global movement of people and companies using business as a force for good. We’re proud as (wonky fruit infused) punch to have passed the assessment to join B Corp’s global network of progressive businesses – putting social and environmental concerns at the heart of what we do and adhering to strict standards of transparency and accountability while we do it. Of course, just like our fruit and veg, we aren’t perfect… but where we get it wrong, we’ll put our hands up and let you know what we are doing to improve. We want to bring a fresh perspective to everything we do. Acting with a fresh perspective means constantly looking for a better way of doing things.

So, it’s not just about the finished product in its good-looking can; it’s how we make our drinks; the decisions we make every day; how we treat the people we work with, and how we do business. B Corp is a badge of honour and every day when we come to work and see its little logo on our can it encourages us to strive to do better. Doing better is why we started DASH in the first place and why we have gathered a team of positive DASHers who all feel the same about leaving the world a better place than when we started, using our delicious natural drinks to change things one sip at a time.

English Tea Shop

We have always been about driving our purpose forward to create a positive impact on our people and planet. As a mark of our efforts in bringing love and prosperity through community, we reached a key milestone and became a B-corp-certified corporation with a score of 117.8 on our first attempt. With a global footprint in more than 50 markets with an extensive line of organic tea blends ranging from wellness to seasonal teas, our products are available in gourmet, natural foods and premium stores around the world. This certification strengthens our brand purpose further by placing its community, employees and sustainability at the center.

Since the beginning, English Tea Shop has believed in championing change throughout its value chain by doing the right thing and taking sustainable approaches through a CSV (Creating shared value) model. We have embraced our purpose through the Prajãva Philosophy which ties this commitment together. The Sri Lankan word for community – Prajãva – guides every business model we make. We care about enriching the lives of everyone involved from farm to cup; from planters to pickers, processors and packers, to you preparing your favourite cup of tea in the comfort of your own home.

Below are key activities highlighting the B-corp pillars. Governance Our overall mission at English Tea Shop governs every activity we set foot on. We make sure it’s part of our commitment to work towards it in terms of reaching our goals. From considering every stakeholder, we have constantly reviewed and carefully made decisions that are in the best interests of the business, its people and the planet.

People People are at the center of our business model and we are a 30% employee-owned company. We make sure they are provided with various perks and are part of an inclusive learning culture. Through our Open Book Management approach, we have been able to establish a 'business of business of people' who contribute their ideas and are a part of our bigger ambition. We also constantly work on wellbeing initiatives to improve the financial security, and health and insurance plans of our employees.

Community Our purpose is community driven. Through a Creating Shared Value approach, which evaluates our engagement with and impact on the communities in which we work closely with in this tea revolution journey. has created a positive impact through our value chain. We have hosted various community programs across our farmer communities in improving their livelihoods through training programs ranging from beekeeping programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Environment We are fans of Mother Nature and we have taken efforts to measure our impact on the air, climate, water, land, and biodiversity.

We are certified plastic free and our packaging is fully biodegradable as we have converted our pyramid tea bags to soilon. Our multiple initiatives on the ground are directed towards improving our biodiversity in the long run from farmer initiatives onwards. Our products are carbon-neutral and we are working to reach carbon positivity by 2030.

Fearne & Rosie

Hi, we’re Fearne & Rosie, berry nice to meet you! We're on a mission to bring back jam into British households with our more fruit, less sugar range of healthier jams. Our jams are 40% less sugar than the standard jams you’ll see across the U.K. We’re around 70% fruit, and we use all natural ingredients and never ever use concentrate. We pack in the fruit, go easy on the sugar, and cut out the nasties. We want to provide healthier, tastier, happier choices for children and their families - it’s berry simple!

Spreading goodness - we’re passionate about making a positive impact for our customers and for families up and down the U.K. That’s why we’ve partnered with Fareshare, support schools and are proud supporters of BBC Children in Need. The past year has seen Fearne & Rosie reduce waste in jam production process by using surplus ingredients as well as adopting sustainable sourcing including eco pallet wrapping and recycling content labels. At Fearne & Rosie we believe that business should be a force for good – we donate at least 2% of revenue to charity through our partnerships and have saved the nation from consuming over 500,000 sugar cubes in the last year, hooray! In November 2022, we were Jamtastically excited to announce our official status as a B Corporation.

Globally, we are one of the first healthier jams businesses to do so, achieving a high 93.4 B Impact Score. With our B Corp certification, we look to continue to do our bit to raise the bar and make that positive impact. Future plans include expanding our distribution, giving families across the UK greater access to healthier jams as well as establishing a schools’ outreach programme to empower children to make healthier food choices. We hope you’ll join us on our jolly jammy journey to make the world a better place, one jar at a time.

Kabuto Noodles

Kabuto is for the eater with big dreams, a rebellious streak, and a fondness for well-made noodles and Asian flavours. In a noodle world of artificial ingredients, suspiciously sourced meats and cheap non-recyclable pots, we have been working against the grain to deliver great noodles, without the guilt. Our values are Audacious, Experimental and Honest. As the first instant noodle company to be awarded B Corp UK certification, we didn’t take the journey lightly!

We started in 2010 when vegetarianism was nowhere near the revolution it stands as today, and we wanted the flavours we made to have real chicken and beef. What made our pots non-vegetarian? We were using small, dried chicken cubes. (Let’s be honest – they are a little weird) We tested the veggie waters in the US and the flavours were a success! Whether it’s for animal, environmental or health reasons, it seems everyone has a bit of Flexitarian in them – and we are here for it! We are now 100% vegetarian across the board! So, whilst we were busy being environmentally conscious, we started to see the instant noodle market grow – why? That big scary term, cost of living crisis. We truly believe that good food should be available to all, so we decided to make ourselves even more affordable.

In a world full of cost increases, have a cost decrease! Reducing the thickness of our plastic (good for the world and pockets) and removing the ‘meat’ from our pots meant that we had a little more room to recalculate the cost of our product. Proudly reducing from £2 per pot to £1.65. We didn’t stop there! We knew there was more we could do to protect our planet. We have found the world of environmental responsibility to be a scary grey area with no one clear route for our carbon footprint. We did know that we wanted to make an immediate and positive difference.

After exploring, we decided to work with Ecologi, a carbon-offsetting subscription service. As the famous Chinese proverb says: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.” Since beginning our Ecologi journey 12 months ago, we have planted 1,549 trees and offset our carbon emissions by 114.51t. That's equal to 88 long-haul flights! The final must-mention for Kabuto is the launch of our Mac n’ Cheese pots. They burst onto the shelves in both original and scorching Sriracha Chilli flavour and creamy, oozy original variations to tantalise the tastebuds and take you on a fun, fusion flavour journey.

This new cheesy direction for Kabuto has been a hit! You thought we were all about noodles, right?  Change is good and we want to remind customers that food can and should be fun, affordable and good for you! Making changes like this is a big thing for us and is not something our small team of 6 has taken lightly. When faced with rising costs and changing customer demands, we have chosen to shake things up!

Love Raw

LoveRaw, the UK’s fastest-growing plant-based chocolate brand, has become B Corp certified. The company has disrupted the confectionary category with innovative vegan chocolate products that now compete with mainstream brands.

The latest products to join the LoveRaw’s exciting line-up includes Nutty Choc Balls and Caramelised Biscuit Wafer. The business secured a major deal with Asda earlier this year and its wider range is available to purchase from retailers including Asda, Waitrose, Co-op, Whole Foods and other major retailers and convenience stores. LoveRaw has achieved B Corp certification thanks to its founders’ commitment to doing business responsibly. LoveRaw only works with ethical suppliers and champions high welfare practices across the cocoa value chain.

As a plant-based chocolate company, LoveRaw’s product range is made using only the best quality ingredients, which, crucially, are all free from palm oil and artificial ingredients. Rimi Thapar, co-founder at LoveRaw, said: “It’s our mission to make the best-tasting plant-based chocolate – while operating as a responsible business, which is hugely important to us as a team – and we know it’s important to consumers too. “As we continue to grow, we want to make sure we do so in an ethical, sustainable way and this accreditation is testament to our efforts so far.”

Mister Free'd

We make gluten-free, vegan tortilla chips using simple and natural ingredients. We believe that gluten-free, plant-based snacking should be more than just about choosing a healthier alternative to your favourite treat. We have been a certified B Corp since November 2022. We are on a mission to free snack lovers from GMOs and food additives by offering tortilla chips that are both healthy and delicious.

To us, it is all about natural, carefully selected ingredients and the perfect crunch, without compromising on taste. Our tortilla chips are perfect for every occasion - nibble them in the garden with a BBQ spread; munch at your desk to kick those afternoon cravings; or get creative in the kitchen with loaded nachos, salads, or tofu “nuggets”. Our company was founded on a passion for healthy eating made convenient.

Our co-founder, David, is a coeliac and lactose intolerant and knows how difficult it is to find tasty snacks that also meet his dietary requirements. David’s personal challenges inspired us to create tortilla chips that are accessible to people with similar problems, including those with food allergies, food sensitivities, and other dietary needs. We keep our ingredients list clean and short, only including those foods we can pronounce. This means no GMOs or nasty additives, including added sugars. Our tortilla chips are instantly recognisable when tasted. They are made from coarse corn which is soaked in water extra-long to produce a masa which is less starchy and more flavourful.

The chips are cut slightly thicker than normal and fried very lightly, resulting in a chip that is crunchy without being oily and with a strong corn flavour. It is truly a premium high-quality chip. Our chips are currently available in eight flavours: Barbecue, Cheezie, Blue Maize, Chia Seed, Kale and Spinach, Beetroot with Onion, Avocado and Mango Chili.

Prodigy Snacks

Prodigy exists to create positive change in the confectionery category, to hit that sweet spot of amazing tasting chocolate that doesn’t compromise people or planet. We love chocolate, we always have so inspired by the classics we are reinventing our favourites, only better. Better because we only use 100% natural, plant-based ingredients, high-quality single origin cacao, a uniquely low percentage of natural sugar and a high percentage of prebiotic fibre. All our packaging is compostable, or recyclable and we are the UK’s first Plastic Negative chocolate bar. Every biscuit, bite, bar and egg sold funds the removal of ocean bound plastic wrappers from the environment, 11.5 million and counting to date.

We are also Carbon Neutral and proud to be part of the B Corp movement. We believe that by choosing to chomp on Prodigy and creating a community of changemakers, we can positively impact breakpoints like sugar consumption, gut and mental health, obesity, plastic waste, environment and climate for good. We can harness our power as a collective to begin to heal the big stuff. Our long-term ambition is to have a positive impact on our environment, our community, our employees and the wider world, while making some delicious snacks along the way. Chocolate, only better. It’s what we make and it’s what we do.

Rubies in the Rubbles

Founded in 2012 by Jenny Costa, the idea for Rubies in the Rubble came after a sobering visit to New Covent Garden market and seeing the huge quantities of perfectly edible, beautiful quality, fruit and vegetables being thrown away if not sold. The numbers didn’t add up- how could a third of food globally be wasted, enough to feed the malnourished population four times over? Having grown up on a farm, Jenny was taught to value each painstakingly grown piece of fruit and veg, and learned the art of preserving seasonal fruit and veg in chutneys and jams – nothing was ever to go to waste and each new season’s harvest was anticipated with great fervour. Despite her MA in Mathematics and Economics and early career in a hedge fund, Jenny grew to be passionate about encouraging sustainable consumption by preventing good food from going to waste – and took a leap of faith to launch Rubies in the Rubble to give people a tangible and delicious solution to food waste. She started making her first batches of relishes, inspired by family recipes, from surplus from Borough Market, where she had her first stall.

Since then, Jenny has been working with farmers and producers across the UK and Portugal to put this valuable produce to good use and spread the sustainability message whilst doing so. Those pioneering days of stirring hot pots of chutney and trying to get ahead of the seasonal waste make up the entrepreneurial fabric that Rubies was built on. Fast forward eleven years and Rubies in the Rubble are helping lead the anti-food waste movement- catering to the transformative shifts in consumer attitudes towards food waste, moving from what was once considered an invisible problem to being paramount in combatting the climate crisis. Though their mission remains the same, Rubies in the Rubble have continued to do gooder every step on their food waste fighting journey. In 2020, they became a B Corporation, certifying them as a business that balances purpose , planet and people in line with profit.

In 2022, they launched their delicious tomato ketchup into a squeezy format- the innovative bottle made of 100% recycled and recyclable rPET plastic. This gives the plastic waste in circulation a second life and diminishes the carbon footprint of their packaging by 77%! Further, they endeavour to work with other businesses to make use of their surplus, as well as donating their own products to charities that redistribute food to support the most vulnerable in our society, such as The Felix Project. Rubies also incorporates B Corp values into their internal working culture. Whether its by encouraging everyone to get on their bikes and join the environmentally-friendly cycle to work scheme, charity volunteering days or by shaking things up with a blind hiring process that’s all about skills, attitude and the ability to bring out the best in others instead of simply a CV.  Rubies team knows how to have a good time while doing good.

And if there’s anything on their employees’ minds, their team ‘feel-back’ allows them to share their thoughts, feelings and ideas about what’s going on at work. Yet, as a B Corp, the Rubies in the Rubble team is always searching for ways they can do gooder and have a positive impact people and our planet.  To join Rubies on their food waste fighting journey, you can find their range available at Cotswold Fayre.

Tony's Chocolonely

Tony’s Chocolonely is an impact company that makes chocolate. Putting social impact before profit — Tony's Chocolonely's vision is to make chocolate 100% slave free. Not just their own chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. The company was founded in 2005 by 3 journalists from the Dutch TV show ‘Keuringsdienst van Waarde’ after they discovered that the world’s largest chocolate manufacturers were buying cocoa from plantations that used child labour and modern slavery. Since then, Tony’s Chocolonely has dedicated its efforts to raising awareness of and eliminating inequality in the chocolate industry.

Tony’s Chocolonely leads by example, building direct, long-term relationships with cocoa farmers in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, paying them a higher price and working together to solve the underlying causes of modern slavery and child labour. Tony’s Chocolonely wants to inspire the industry as a whole to make 100% slave free the norm in chocolate. They believe that being a better business should be the norm, not the exception. The brand has grown to become one of the market leaders in the Netherlands and its bars are now available almost worldwide, with teams in the Netherlands, USA, UK, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Sweden. Tony’s is the fastest growing major chocolate brand in the UK*

The serious stuff: There are 1.56 million children that work illegally on cocoa farms in Ghana and Ivory Coast and at least 30,000 instances of modern slavery and trafficking. This is a direct result of the unequally divided cocoa chain. Tony’s exists to change this.Source: NORC report, October 2020 and Global Slavery Index 2018 Other choco facts & info: The name ‘Tony’s Chocolonely’ represents Tony’s lonely fight against inequality in the chocolate industry, because the bigger chocolate companies didn’t want to help at the start of this journey. Our bars are unequally divided because that’s how the chocolate industry is. The profits aren’t shared fairly in chocolate, so our bars can’t be either. Tony’s is Fairtrade certified – we pay farmers the Tony’s premium on top of the Fairtrade premium to enable them to earn a living income. Tony’s is BCorp certified – we believe in business as a force for good Our bar packaging is FSC certified paper and fully recyclable Our bars don’t contain any palm oil and we are working towards a supply chain free of plastic. Most of our bars and products are now plastic free.

Union

Union was founded in 2001 by Steven Macatonia and Jeremy Torz, two scientists who went to buzzing San Francisco in the 90s and discovered an artisan coffee scene that didn’t yet exist in the UK. Deciding to bring the west coast back to London, they quit their day jobs and started roasting in their parents’ garden shed. A few years later, having learned more about coffee sourcing and the devastation faced by coffee farmers as the world coffee price dropped, they decided to start a roastery with a new sourcing approach – Union Direct Trade. Union is founded on the principle of marrying high quality speciality coffee with responsible sourcing, making coffee better for everyone from drinkers to farmers.

Steven and Jeremy travelled the world to find farmer partners to work with (Union still work with their first ever farmer partner, Maraba from Rwanda), assembled a brilliant team and became one of the first specialty coffee roasters in the UK. Over the last 20 years, Union have a positive impact on the livelihood of over 200,000 people in coffee producing countries, and we’re proud to have won The Queen’s Award for Sustainable Enterprise twice in the last 5 years (it is awarded every 5 years) for our pioneering sourcing model. In 2022 Union became a B Corp – certifying the highest standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving, to supply chain practises and input materials. In 2022, Union was announced by Allegra as “Best Speciality Roaster” & “Most Ethical Brand” in the European Coffee Awards.

In 2022, Union was awarded (for the second time) with The Queen’s Award For Enterprise: Sustainable Development 2022 Through Union Direct Trade we support over 200,000 people, most of them smallholders in 14 countries. 88% of the coffee we source comes from smallholder farmers. 57% of the coffee we source comes from relationships longer than 5 years, of which half are longer than 10 years. Union Direct Trade is about creating sustainable livelihoods for coffee farmers by establishing long-term relationships and paying fair prices. We paid 33% above the world market price for our coffee.

Flawsome!

Hi there. Reading is thirsty work. How about a Flawsome! juice? It's crafted from wonky fruit, nothing else. We're fair to farmers and packed full of flavour. Oh, and we're vegan, gluten-free, and don't add any sugar. Why would we?

Let us introduce ourselves — we're Karina and Maciek. We put a lot of love into everything we do, from our family to our company. In 2018, we started this independent juice brand to transform perfectly imperfect fruit into delicious drinks for everyone to enjoy. As advocates for preventing food waste, we wanted a tastier way to enjoy surplus fruit. Today, we craft over 16+ products. Oh, and we're just getting started.

✓ Real wonky fruit

✓ B Corp

✓ No added sugar

✓ Fairer to farmers

✓ Carbon Positive

✓ 2+ fruit saved per drink

Flawsome! holds Social Enterprise UK Certification. In April 2021, we joined a global community of Certified B Corporations® that are using their businesses as a force for good. We couldn’t be prouder! Sustainability and community are at the heart of everything we do. Freestar was the world's first alcohol free beer to certify as a Bcorp. Throughout the years, Freestar has constantly dedicated time to improve their social and environmental impact. Our beers are made using 70% less water and emitting 50% less CO2 than the industry average, something we are very proud of. Alongside this, we have been dedicated to ensuring we are using our resources for good. In October 2020, we set up a mentoring hotline to help anyone young and unemployed. To date, we have helped over 300 young people to find jobs and create vital contacts within their area of work.

Little Soap Company

Ahead of its’ time in 2008, but absolutely of the moment in 2023, the multi-award winning Little Soap Company was created when Emma questioned why UK supermarkets didn’t offer any choice of natural or organic soaps on their shelves .With genuine provenance from hand-making on the kitchen table and selling in sub-zero degrees at local farmers markets Little Soap Company really has been a David and Goliath take, having brought the first organic soap to the supermarket over a decade ago and slowly growing to become the first ethical soap in all the main grocers.

Now part of an exciting growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose and putting people and planet first and not solely profit, they have been disrupting the soap market for over fourteen years as the first organic soap collection to bring vegan and sustainable products to the supermarkets at affordable prices. With various ranges for differing price points, Little Soap Company has brightened the shelves with consumer led demand for organic and natural soap and helped turn the category around, bringing an entirely new audience to purchase natural bar soap.

Now one of the fastest growing companies in the toiletries sector, constantly pushing boundaries and bringing out innovative products that create market trends the latest Eco Warrior range is entirely plastic free, formulating traditionally bottled liquids, into bar form. Soap is no longer soap, with job specific bars for hands, face, body, shave and shampoo. With copious personal accolades - the products follow suit including awards from Beauty Bible, Free From Skincare Awards, Mama & Baby Beauty Awards, Green Parent, The Grocer and Psychologies Magazine Eco Awards and being awarded a Queens Award for Innovation last year, which is their proudest achievement of all to date. They were classed a Carbon Negative Business by Carbon Neutral Britain last year, so alongside meeting rigorous social and environmental standards for BCorp, represent their commitment to environmental goals meaning they’ve done the hard work looking at sourcing, carbon emissions, waste and where they give back — enabling customers to make a simple eco-swap that literally won't cost the earth.

Founder Emma Heathcote-James says, ‘We have always been mindful of our social and environmental impact as a business. BCorp is deemed the gold standard and is a trusted logo - meaning businesses really practice what they preach. We are on a constant mission to better ourselves year on year. As one of the only British soap companies among such august company, it takes our environmental efforts, story and brand to the next level. It also reinforces what we need to do going forward in order to become better in all aspects of the performance standards against which we are measured.’

Mermaid Gin

Rooted in the natural landscape of a unique island, we are the Isle of Wight’s first and only distillery. Our founders Xavier and Conrad and our small team distil spirits shaped by our stunning surroundings and the unique character of our island. Doing things differently, minimising waste, using ethically sourced and often local, foraged ingredients to craft a range of smooth, complex spirits.

Our signature spirit Mermaid Gin delivers a smooth yet complex blend of fresh organic lemon zest and peppery grains of paradise, with a hint of sea air from locally foraged, fragrant rock samphire - a refreshing and invigorating serve. Mermaid’s name was inspired by its lead botanical rock samphire, known locally as ‘mermaid’s kiss’. This aromatic succulent clings to the cliffs surrounding the island and marks the high tide line on its majestic beaches.

Alongside Mermaid Gin, we produce subtly sweet, naturally flavoured Mermaid Pink Gin, infused with fresh Island strawberries grown in the rich and fertile microclimate of the Arreton valley and Mermaid Salt Vodka (a favourite with mixologists), using salt harvested from the flood tide off the island’s southern coast. Our latest addition is Mermaid Zest Gin, a citrussy and herbaceous blend of Mermaid with island bergamot, grapefruit and wild-foraged coastal rosemary. Mermaid is naturally vegan and gluten-free.

We blend traditional methods with contemporary techniques, hand-crafting our spirits in small batches and slow distilling before cutting with local spring water and bottling on the island. The result is an award-winning range of spirits with a contemporary style, layered complexity and signature smooth delivery.

We are passionate about protecting our island and the planet.  As part of our commitment to sustainability, conservation and a circular economy, we’re proactive in helping to protect the environment, actively working to reduce our carbon footprint and supporting reforestation and seagrass meadow restoration projects.

Awarded first place in the IWSC Design Awards and certified as plastic-free, our Mermaid range is crafted from recyclable glass, with a sustainably sourced natural cork and compostable tamper-proof seal. In 2022, we achieved another sustainability goal of becoming a B Corporation, joining a global, progressive, community of organisations using business as a force for good, balancing profit with purpose and people. We are a purpose-driven distillery; inspired by the natural world to create premium, hand-crafted spirits, working in connection with nature.

Co-Founder Xavier with friends and crew mates Paul Berry and Chris Mannion, have come together for the ultimate ocean encounter. With shared passions for the environment and exploration, the Mermaid Atlantic team will compete in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2023, rowing to raise awareness of the preservation of ocean habitats and raising funds for The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Surfers Against Sewage and the Seahorse Trust. The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge presents the team members with the chance to embark on a mental and physical adventure while raising funds for marine causes they are passionate about.

Whether this is through their charitable partnership with Hackney Foodbank, which has seen them donate tens of thousands of peanut butter jars to help fight food poverty in their local borough, their focus on transparent, sustainable ingredient sourcing or their journey to becoming net zero, Pip & Nut are committed to using business as a force for good. Last year they launched their impact-focused Instagram channel to allow their community of nut butter lovers to follow their sustainability journey in more detail than ever before. In the following months they will also be publishing their 2022 Impact Report detailing the progress made across all areas of better business last year, as well as this year's sustainability focus, in the hope that it can inspire others, from businesses to individuals, to join them in seeking and doing better.

Ultimately, tasting is believing and luckily there's no better time than now to try their products as Pip & Nut's range is 15% off throughout March

Stroud Brewery

Here at Stroud Brewery, based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, we are a proud member of the B Corporation community. As a B Corp business we are committed to balancing profit and purpose, and to using business as a force for good.

Our net zero journey includes working with local suppliers, in fact 60% of our suppliers are within 50 miles of our brewery. The suppliers we use work with nature by using organic farming methods, natural fertilisers and organic ingredients, that combine together to create our incredible organic beer. All our electricity comes from 100% renewable energy and we recently installed solar panels on our roof to generate our own renewable energy. We will continue to find new ways to reduce our residual emissions until they are gone, with the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2025.

We collaborated with River Cottage to produce a selection of high-quality, sustainable beers. The partnership strengthens both our strong commitment to local, seasonal and ethical food and drink. Resulting in a range of unique beers that also reflect River Cottage's philosophy of using fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.

The collaboration showcases our shared values of sustainability, community, and a passion for good quality beer, brewed using locally sourced ingredients and providing a delicious and responsible drinking option for our customers.

This partnership is a great example of how businesses can work together to promote sustainable practices and provide customers with ethical, high-quality, organic, B Corporation beers.

Summerdown Mint

Summerdown are the Peppermint People. They grow, harvest and distil their signature Black Mitcham peppermint on their farm in Hampshire. Its refined, distinctive taste and fragrance inspires their wonderfully refreshing range of chocolates, teas and treats.

The intense wave of mint that hits you when you open a box of Summerdown transports you straight to the Summerdown fields – a peppermint playground for peacocks, bees and butterflies. Thanks to the slow, sustainable way they farm, Summerdown’s Black Mitcham peppermint has a pure, invigorating aroma and taste – unlike anything you’ll have tried before.

It’s a taste that had been all but lost to England, until Summerdown’s founder Sir Michael Colman brought some back from America over three decades ago and began cultivating at home on the family farm. They now grow around 100 acres of Black Mitcham, transforming it into their single-estate peppermint oil, so that they can share its unique qualities with mint-lovers across the world.

In November 2021, Summerdown became the second farm in the UK to gain B Corp certification. Whilst the conversation around sustainability and words associated with it may be relatively new, sustainability has always been a way of life at Summerdown.

They believe in farming for the future, so they’re always thinking about their impact on the environment and how they can maintain a thriving, sustainable ecosystem. Biodiversity is crucial to everything they do and is championed by their peppermint. The team shares a holistic approach to the farm – they view every area of the farm as connected. The health of the peppermint, for example, is dependent on their miles of hedgerows and the wildlife found within them.

Aside from being a certified B Corp, the team work with wildlife conservation charity Plantlife, are a Countryside Stewardship farm and are involved in research initiatives such as the Woodgarston project with South East Water and Natural England.

Summerdown has beehives in their mint fields, barn owls in farm buildings and every year they plant special feed crops for birds and sow wildflower seeds, encouraging new creatures to make themselves at home around the edges of their fields and woodlands. Because of all their sustainable practises, as a farm they are carbon neutral.

Keeping Summerdown’s soil as healthy as possible is a real priority. They need to make sure it remains as nutrient-rich as it was the day they started farming – after all, that’s the soil that their peppermint originally fell for. And you can only grow the finest peppermint in the purest, most carefully nurtured soil.

The underlying aim of the Summerdown business is to be regenerative, that is to say, they strive to make business decisions that actively engage the restoration of the environment and reduce their negative impact on it.

Summerdown is also are part of the UK B Corp working group on Regenerative Agriculture, using business as a force for good.

That is to say they believe they can bring Great Taste award-winning peppermint chocolates to consumers whilst looking after the planet and people too.

Brew Tea Co

We’re Brew Tea Co, a family run business based in Manchester. We started out in 2012 with one aim – to bring top notch, whole leaf tea to as many drinkers as possible. Manchester isn't known for growing tea. But at Tea HQ, we do everything else. Blend it, taste it, pack it, ship it.

For us, it's only good tea if it's all good.

So, who are we? With an Impact Score of 94 we’re one of the highest ranking B-Corps in the UK. Here’s how we do things properly: We’re flying the flag for tea Drinkers. So it’s only right we fly the flag for growers too. We work with growers and tea gardens that are part of the Ethical Tea Partnership. They share the B-Corp value of using business as a force for the good. We work with the Ethical Tea Partnership to improve the lives of tea workers, farmers and their environment. Wherever possible, we source directly, ensuring all core blends are also Rainforest Alliance certified.

What about packaging you ask? If you’ve seen our bright tea boxes out and about on the shelves then you know they pack a punch. But they’re more than just a pretty face. Our boxes are made from FSC Certified Board, which means they can be recycled when your tea is finished.

Take a peek inside our boxes and you’ll meet the nifty NatureFlex packet. The clear inner bags may look like plastic, but don’t be fooled. They are compostable and can go in your food waste bin. You could even put them in your home compost if you fancy, but they will break down quicker in industrial conditions. Want to know how to spot the difference? When you scrunch up plastic in your hand it bounces back, but NatureFlex stayed crumpled. It’s that flexy quality that helps it break down over time.

Last but never least are our Proper Tea Bags. There are a few reasons why they’re Proper. We use the same rolled whole leaves as our loose tea. They’re big, they’re tasty and they’re hand plucked. Our bags are roomy enough to let the leaves swirl and expand as they absorb water, so you get a tastier cup.  Not a dusty paper bag in sight. We use Soilon for the bags, which is also compostable and can go in your food waste bin along with the NatureFlex.

We’re a small brand that likes to move quickly. But every step of the way we make sure we’re building a business that gives back more than it takes away.

Good tea, and good business too.

Flax & Kale

Flax & Kale is a healthy, innovative, and sustainable food company that began in 1979 as a small vegetarian restaurant in Spain, one of the first of its kind to be opened in the country.

What started as a family-owned restaurant promoting healthy eating has become a successful multicategory & omnichannel brand of flexitarian food experiences, rapidly expanding in Spain and following to international markets.

For Flax & Kale, sustainability in one of the mail values of the company and is part of the group’s transversal strategy. They work their sustainability policies in three main areas: environmental, social and economic, and they take into account two essential frameworks: SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and BCorp Certification, one of the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

In 2014, the first Flax & Kale branded restaurant opened its doors in Barcelona, and, since then, the brand operates in 6 restaurants, including the new opening: a brand-new flagship in Madrid. In addition to the growth in hospitality, in 2018 Flax & Kale invested in a R&D&I and production centre of 6.500m2, where ambitious projects are carried out in the categories of probiotic drinks, kombuchas, a fermented beverage with lots of advantages.

In this category, Flax & Kale goal is to revolutionize the market of soft drinks with a wide range of healthy and tasty alternatives to the sugar ones, because they believe that health and pleasure can go together. The secret of its depth of flavour is the addition of cold-pressed juices in the second fermentation that preserves all the nutrients, colours, and flavours of fresh fruit.

In 2020, this focus on R&D allowed the company to make the leap from restaurants to mass consumption to become a truly omnichannel brand, selling products directly to the consumer through its own ecommerce, on the supermarket shelves of the main distribution chains in Spain and to the rest of the Food Service channel through third-party distributors.

Nowadays, Flax & Kale is the only healthy food brand in Spain with a business approach based on a vertical integration and whose leading product is kombucha.

Gran Luchito

Amigos, we’re a B Corp!

We are super excited to announce that we are officially a B Corp!

But what does it mean to be a certified B Corp? B Corps are companies verified to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. So, whilst success in a traditional business is all about profit, B Corps also measure their impact on people and on the planet.

By being B Corp, we have committed to positively impacting all stakeholders – workers, communities, customers, and our planet. It took us over a year to become certified and it doesn’t just end there. The community holds us accountable to push ourselves to do even better each year and we are committed to using this business as a force for good.

Momo

MOMO was founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife Josh and Lisa Puddle after discovering kombucha on a trip to New York. Drinking it made them feel amazing and on return to the UK they decided to quit their jobs and dedicate themselves to brewing kombucha.

From the beginning they’ve made kombucha the old-fashioned, homemade way: in a small glass jar. It means they’re able to produce the tastiest and highest quality kombucha, which they brew and bottle from their London brewery.

MOMO is completely unfiltered for a fuller depth of flavour and always organic – better for you and better for the environment. It’s not easy making kombucha this way, but it’s worth it, and they have the awards to prove it. Each flavour won a 2022 Great Taste Award: 2- stars for the Ginger-Lemon and 1-star each for the Elderflower, Raspberry-Hibiscus and Turmeric.

MOMO proudly certified B-Corp in April 2022.  It is the highest-ranking B Corp kombucha company in Europe with an overall score of 94.4.

Some of the initiatives undertaken to date include donating 1% of revenue to charity. Over the years, they have supported a variety of charities including the amazing Breast Cancer charity Future Dreams, refugee charity RefuAid, mental health charity YoungMinds and homeless charity Crisis. They are also certified organic, an important step for looking after the soil and the planet.

From day 1 MOMO has been a London Living Wage Employer, as well as being 50% female founded, and currently has a 50% female team too. This year, the company is working towards becoming carbon neutral.

Mr Organic

Mr Organic makes 100% plant based & organic kitchen cupboard staples for conscious foodies. From the very beginning, Mr Organic has been about more than just food – it’s about raising an Organic culture and living in harmony with the people and the environment around us through sustainable production and wholesome ingredients. Organic for them is a way of life – from their Organic tomato farm, to the friendships they build with suppliers, to providing the best possible quality products for their customers – Mr Organic was created to make positive changes to people, the planet and all living beings.

A more conscientious way of living is at the heart of Mr Organic. With growing understanding of the environmental benefits of organic production methods and plant-based produce, Mr Organic is working to advocate for the adoption of a holistically organic way of life. Their sustainable tomato farm in Pontinia, Italy is 100% Organic and plant-based, which results in increased biodiversity, protects habitats, and decreases the amount of Co2 emitted into the atmosphere. This focus is carried on to every stage of their supply chain – from solar-panelled production facilities to zero air miles transportation to over 95% plastic free packaging, sustainability is key.

The need to change our food systems has never been greater. Organic farming is the key to restoring nature, protecting our soils, and helping to tackle the climate emergency, with plant, insect, and bird life up to 50% more abundant on organic farms. The importance of this is fundamental to Mr Organics ethos to truly understand the benefits of organic on the environment, people, and all living beings. The entire range of Mr. Organic tomato-based products, and the range of tinned beans is produced in their own facility with state of art machineries that combine traditional production methods with innovative technology. The rest of the range has been meticulously sourced by Mr Organic by choosing independent producers that share their values and with which they build long term friendships.  They like to say that Mr. Organic foods is made by friends, for friends.

Mrs Crimbles

Ecotone UK owns pioneering and category-leading food brands including Clipper Teas, Whole Earth, Kallø, Mrs Crimble’s, and Alter Eco. Driven by its Food for Biodiversity mission, Ecotone strives to challenge conventions and change the food industry from the inside. And by creating more sustainable products that actively nourish the earth, Ecotone encourages and empowers people to make better choices both for themselves and for our planet.

The company has been B Corp certified since 2019 and champions its mission, ‘Food for Biodiversity’, through a commitment to protecting the living planet for current and future generations. It is focused on providing food that is good for people and the planet and conducts its business in a sustainable way.

Across Europe, Ecotone is a leading champion in organic and plant-based food, and recently became the world’s highest scoring global food business with 116.5 points– surpassing its previous 91.7 score achieved in 2019.

This was a huge achievement, with the average score for B Corp assessments lying at 50.9 with a certification minimum of 80. The benchmark reflects Ecotone’s commitment to the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability across the company and its family of purpose-driven brands.

All Ecotone brands align with the Food for Biodiversity mission to transform the global food system through natural and organic ingredients. Clipper Teas is the world’s largest Fairtrade tea brand, which produces a huge variety of natural, fair and delicious teas and coffees. Better By Nature brand Kallø is a market leader with its organic rice cakes and veggie cakes, and natural food brand, Whole Earth – the UK’s number one peanut butter brand, directly supports vital deforestation initiatives in Indonesia with the Sumatran Orangutan Society. The UK portfolio also includes Alter Eco – an organic & Fairtrade chocolate brand committed to restoring ecosystems and farming communities.

Last year, Ecotone published its first sustainability report, outlining the company’s commitments to protect, care and cherish biodiversity. This includes reducing its environmental impact from minimising waste to reducing carbon emissions and investing in sustainable packaging. Ecotone is part of WRAP UK’s plastic pact to keep recyclable and reusable plastic in the economy and out of the natural environment.  Ecotone is striving towards making all brand packaging from at least 30% recycled content and 100% of its packaging fully recyclable by 2025. The company recently made a significant investment to remove the foil in Clipper’s large pack formats to make it fully recyclable.

Taking a natural approach to business means Ecotone is open, honest, fair and responsible – and this stretches from how the company treats the planet to its employees too. Last year, Ecotone was awarded with a Great Place to Work certification for the second year in a row. Ecotone works collaboratively, as part of one big family - with each team member playing a crucial role in ensuring the success of operations and each brand.

One Water

Here at One, we do things a little differently to most drinks brands. Our vision is for everyone to have access to clean, safe water in a low carbon world, free from plastic pollution. Every time we sell a bottle of water, natural energy drink or hydration tablet, a donation is made to The One Foundation, which has now changed over 4 million lives and raised over £25 million for clean water projects across the globe.

The health of our planet as well as its people has always been a big priority for us. We have always tried to push the boundaries of what we do. Using lighter, 100% recycled plastic, being a certified Carbon Neutral company to scope 3, founding UK B Corp member and donating a further 1% For the Planet.

We were a founding member of the B Corp movement (7th to be exact) and recertified in 2021 with a score of 105.3. We were also recognised as a ‘Best for the World’ B Corp in the impact area of ‘Community’, collectively leading the global movement for an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.

Improving our planet is so core to what we do that we will always be restless in this regard. Do ONE good thing, switch water and change lives.

We’re proud to pay all our contractors and employees the living wage and commit a minimum of 3 days of our time to support charitable causes. We also work with a number of animal charities like All Dogs Matter donating food and funds to help reach more vulnerable animals.

Warner's Distillery

Warner’s Distillery is an independent, family-owned distillery based in the heart of the British countryside, on Falls Farm in rural Northamptonshire.  Founded in 2012 by Tom & Tina Warner, they have a vision to become the most nature positive drinks business in the world. Their range of spirits are distilled in small batches in a 250-year-old barn in Harrington using real ingredients, because real tastes better! Many of their botanicals are foraged, grown, and harvested on their farm or in the countryside a short stomp beyond.

For the Warners team, doing epic drinks the right way and crafting them in harmony with nature just makes good business sense, and it’s their mission to engage stakeholders to drive nature positive actions within the drinks industry.

Warners received their B Corp certification in August 2022, recognising the positive impact of Warner’s as a business, and how they deliver positive benefits for their staff, customers, community and environment. This BCorp month, Warner’s are getting their boots muddy and hands dirty to plant 100’s of botanicals and trees across the Harrington parish in conjunction with the charity ‘Creating Natures Corridors’.

Engaging local land owners, pub gardens and indeed the distillery site at Falls Farm, to plant native trees for wildlife and climate action. In March Warner’s will also be conducting a community litter pick and launching their staff cross country course to encourage staff to get out into nature at lunchtime and discover the local countryside. 2022 saw the exciting launch of Warner’s Nature Marque – a first of its kind accreditation scheme. With the support and guidance of their charity partner, The Wildlife Trust BCN, Warner’s Nature Marque accreditations will be awarded to pubs that have taken steps to make their outdoor spaces welcoming for people and wildlife. Actions that can be taken will include, habitat creation such as planting wildflowers and pollen-rich flowers; installing bird boxes, bug hotels, hedgehog highways; but also recognising community engagement and wider sustainable practices that ultimately benefit nature. The accreditation scheme will start with pubs and will then grow to support broader business to make space for nature.

It is an initiative that will enable Warner’s to take their ethos outside of their own business, supporting and encouraging others to take tangible action that will in turn, support and protect nature.

Wilton London

Improving customers lives through natural products without harsh chemicals.

Wilton London creates eco-friendly cleaning products, including botanical surface cleaners and laundry detergents. We believe that you don’t need nasty ingredients to make effective cleaning products and aim to improve our customers day to day lives through natural products without harsh chemicals. We’ve ditched the nasty stuff and swapped them with naturally derived alternatives. Our formulas are designed to be kind to the environment and we're always looking at ways to reduce the impact our products have on our planet.

As a certified B Corp Business, we put people, planet and our community first. We have scrutinised all aspects of our business to make sure we’re doing our best to have a minimal impact. We look at just about everything including the way we work at in our office, manufacturing, sourcing of ingredients and packaging to ensure that they are as good as they can be.

We're using recycled and recyclable plastic in our bottles, all our formulas are biodegradable, we don't test on animals, we're registered with the Vegan Society and we don't use unnecessary ingredients like synthetic dyes. From start to finish, our products have been made and produced sustainably.

We’ve recently announced that our business and liquid laundry range are also 100% carbon neutral. Wherever we can, we try to find new, and innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint and give back to the planet, whether it's providing free wildflower seeds in our orders to help restore bee friendly gardens, or by reducing the weight of our plastic bottles to consume less energy and water in the creation process.

We make all of our products in the UK, that’s because our social performance is really important to us, and we want to be a part of the community we do business in. At Wilton we engage with our community by working with charities and organisations in our community.

If it wasn’t for our people, there would be no Wilton. We work with lots of suppliers each with their own employees and their own suppliers. We make sure that we only work with suppliers that share our beliefs and treat all of their suppliers and employees fairly. Our policies and procedures ensure that they will always treat our supplier and employees with complete fairness, transparency, inclusivity, and diversity at the forefront our intentions.

We work to help the wider community by supporting The Hygiene Bank, a charity and social movement that aims to tackle hygiene poverty. As a partner of the Hygiene Bank, we donate product that gets distributed to food and hygiene banks in the UK, the Wilton team also supports through fundraising events. Our upcoming event has been organised during B Corp month, our team will relay cycle over 200 miles which is the distance from Wilton to Wilton (our office, to the town of Wilton in northeast England).

Belazu

The way we do things at Belazu doesn’t always make sense. To this day we still hand mix our olives and make small batch pestos with fresh basil, grown under the Italian sunshine. Our quest for the best flavour, ingredients and suppliers means we don’t always take the simplest, or cheapest option, which can seem at odds with a traditional business mentality. What does make sense to us is that business can be used as a force for good. From the moment our co-founder George came back across the channel with a van full of olives and big dreams, sustainability and social engagement have always been weaved into our business goals. So, it was with much excitement that we have joined the B-Corp™ community in 2021. We work together with our community of suppliers, customers, employees, and wider partners to accomplish our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. We went through a rigorous certification process to become a B-Corp™, an important process that shows we are doing what we say.

Days Brewing

If you haven’t heard of Days yet, where’ve you been!? Days brew award winning 0.0% Lager & Pale Ale, available across bottles and cans, all available in Cotswold Fayre. Using locally sourced natural ingredients and a unique alcohol-free brewing process, they’ve created a range of crisp, fresh and sessionable beers that are truly alcohol free.

When Mike & Duncan started Days during lockdown 2.0, they knew they wanted to create a business that’s a force of good. A central pillar of the business is Days Duty. An initiative to give 2% of all sales to organisations that empower fresh thinking towards mental health, mirroring the Duty that alcohol companies pay the government as tax, so every Days sold has a positive impact. It’s time to open up a new conversation about alcohol and its effect on our mental and physical fitness.

Something else which was super important to them right from the offset was becoming a B-Corp certified company. To become a certified B Corp, you’re checked, checked, and checked again to ensure that your business is meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance.

Judes

Hello. We’re Jude’s and we make ice cream.

We’ve been making ice cream for the last 20 years and it’s our absolute joy. We love dreaming up delicious new flavours (we’ve won over 70 Great Taste Awards), bringing together brilliant people (our makers, farmers, charities, chefs) and generally doing our best to knock your customers’ socks off.

Our mission is to pioneer radical change in our industry by making the best tasting ice cream and desserts whilst treading lightly on the planet. We create unbelievably indulgent products with the lowest possible carbon footprint we can and invest in the highest quality nature based solutions to support biodiversity in the world around us.

We make a full range of plant based and dairy ice creams, lower sugar kid’s lollies, ice cream bars, shakes, sauces and custards so there is something for every customer. We are passionate about doing everything we can to protect our planet for future generations. We have committed to reduce our carbon intensity by 43% by 2030, and we’re already almost halfway there.   We’ve achieved this in a number of different ways including:

•    Introducing more and more people to the delights of plant based ice cream.  We know our plant based ice cream has, on average, a 47% lower carbon footprint than our dairy, so this is a key way for us to reduce our carbon emissions.  We've committed to make half our range plant based by 2025, and 75% of our launches last year were plant based.

•    We have installed solar panels on our Twyford ice cream factory which we expect to power at least 15% of production.  We also keep our ice cream cool in the UK's first solar powered cold store.

•   Our logistics team have worked hard to improve efficiency with fill loads and route planning.

We truly believe that business should be a force for good and that’s why we’re a certified BCorp. This impacts absolutely everything we do, from making more and more plant based products to using solar power in our ice cream factory and supporting our chosen charities.  Our current partner charities are Home for Good and Resurgo Spear Programme.  Home for Good exists to find a loving home for every child and young person who needs one.  Resurgo Spear programme equips young people facing barriers to employment with the skills they need to enter the workplace.

Our team of flavour experts use only the highest quality ingredients, with the least possible environmental impact, to create lip-smackingly good ice cream and desserts.

Crafted now, for the future.

Lucky Saint

We're excited to announce that Lucky Saint is now a Certified B Corporation. In joining the B Corp community, we’re committing to prioritising the welfare of people and the planet alongside profit.

“Building a responsible, ambitious business was and will always remain the goal at Lucky Saint” - LUKE BOASE, FOUNDER

One of our mantras at Lucky Saint is to Make Sustainability Second Nature. By becoming a B Corp, we have cemented that into our future, and commit to continuous improvement, transparency and accountability. Here’s what we’re most proud of at Lucky Saint: All our employees are Mental Health First Aid trained and we have delivered training across the hospitality sector, to become a champion of good mental health in the industry. We have a strong gender balance with over 50% of our employees being female. Working with SISU Consultancy, we take ownership of addressing our unconscious social bias to create an even more equitable workplace. Building a culture of feedback, with regular personal development plan reviews and 360º feedback, we commit to providing decent work and growth for our employees. In 2021, we accounted for 332.03 tCO2e emissions from our core business operations. We partnered with Earthly to remove 110% of this and become climate-positive, supporting projects like Eden's Mangrove planting in Madagascar. We’re currently measuring our carbon for 2022, including our product emissions, as well as core business operations. Our B Corp journey hasn't ended now we are certified.

In fact, we’re just getting started. We’ll continue to include you on our journey as we improve the social and environmental impact of our business.

We are delighted to join a growing community of B Corps united in doing business that benefits all.

Rude Health

Rude Health started in 2005 around Nick and Camilla Barnard’s kitchen table where we first mixed our Ultimate Muesli with a mission to challenge the assumption that healthy food had to be bland and boring. Soon people were asking to try our cereals with a dairy-alternative and unable to find an all-natural option we thought tasted great, we decided to make our own. 16 years later, we’re found in fridges and cupboards all over the world but our approach to flavour remains the same. Quality ingredients. Nothing artificial. Nothing refined. Choosing Organic where possible and sourcing ingredients from where they grow best, like our sun-soaked Sicilian almonds, letting their goodness shines through. We understand that when it comes to sustainability, not all ingredients are equal. The proof is in the taste.

In June 2021 after months of rigorous auditing, we were proud to join the B CORP community, shining a light on our aim to leave the planet and everyone who enjoys our foods and drinks in ruder health. Our B CORP certification celebrates and challenges how we do business. Putting our team of glass half-fullers first with policies like our enhanced maternity and paternity leave and flexible working hours, so our team can squeeze in a cold-water splash before work or nip out early to catch the last of the winter sun. Championing sustainability with initiatives like switching our drinks cartons from plastic to a bio-based material. Made from sustainably sourced sugar cane, FSC paper board and a thin layer of responsibly sourced aluminium. Materials which are 88% renewable and 100% recyclable. And ensuring we continue to support our community by donating 5% of profits to charity. In October 2022 we celebrated the launch of our latest kid’s cereal by teaming up with Action Against Hunger to host a porridge-making workshop and donated over 1,000 units of Rude Health foods to their social supermarkets, supporting the Charity’s initiative to fight global hunger.

B CORP helps us do business the bright way, while of course, committing to never becoming bland, boring, or uniform. Exciting times lie ahead for Rude Health as we challenge ourselves, our suppliers and our customers to live in ruder health. For us as a business that means rising to the challenge of packaging all our products in 100% recycled materials. Sourcing the best possible Organic gluten-free oats from Britain, where possible. And of course, continuing to make the healthy choice a celebration, not a sacrifice.

Teapigs

Teapigs was born in 2006 when we saw the opportunity to get everyone drinking real tea again! And by real we mean big leaf and big on flavour. Our mission today is the same as it was back in 2006: to get everyone drinking top quality, whole-leaf, great tasting tea - and to do business a bit differently while we're at it. All natural. No nasties. BIG leaf = BIG flavour. Simple! Our teas have won over 157 Great Taste Awards, we’ve been voted best brand 7 times by independent retailers. We know that making small things better can make a big difference. That first cuppa in the morning? Game changer! That’s why we use only the best quality tea, herbs, berries and spices sourced sustainably, in packaging that’s better for the environment. We give back to the communities that bring us our tea and our local community. And try not to take ourselves too seriously along the way. We are very proud to be part of the B Corp community doing business in a better way.

The Cheeky Panda

Founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Julie Chen and Chris Forbes, The Cheeky Panda believes Bamboo is the ultimate eco resource. The B Corp certified brand offers a more sustainable and ethical alternative to traditional, paper-based, everyday essentials. Its award-winning range of Bamboo-based products spans personal care, baby, and beauty.

The Cheeky Panda’s product range is made from FSC 100% certified Bamboo, which produces 65.6% fewer carbon emissions than standard virgin tree-based products. Any additional carbon which is emitted through the production, manufacturing and distribution is offset through our partnership to protect and preserve the vulnerable Annamite Lowland rainforest in Khe Nuoc Trong, Vietnam.

But we don’t just use Bamboo because it produces fewer carbon emissions that traditional tree-based paper, but also because Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, growing 30 times faster than the humble tree! It also produces 30% more oxygen, whilst absorbing 35% more carbon. This means that since the start of 2022 The Cheeky Panda has saved 13,861 tonnes of CO2 (or CO2 equivalent) from entering the atmosphere, 169,304 trees from deforestation, and 190,477 kg of single-use plastic from entering the waste cycle.

Over the last 7 years, as The Cheeky Panda has grown, the need for brands to be transparent over how they produce their products, treat their staff and the wider environment has meant the need for external accreditation has never been more important. Since gaining the coveted B Corp status back in 2018, The Cheeky Panda has sought to become a positive force for change, this has included working with several local, national, and international charity partners to raise funds for a variety of causes.

One such partner is Toilet Twining, which aims to support some of the most vunerable communities in developing nations through the power of sanitation. While toilets aren’t ‘sexy’, they are vital, as higher levels of sanitation have more impact than drinking water quality on health outcomes, specifically reductions in diarrhea, parasitic infections, morbidity, mortality, and increases in child growth.

The Cheeky Panda also uses other third-party accreditation, as all products are Vegan Society certified, and all wet-wipes are also adorned with the leaping bunny logo of Cuelty-Free International. With all this external certification, The Cheeky Panda has become a brand which consumers actively seek out, with a loyal band of both retailers and their customers, who won’t settle for anything else.

The Collective

At The Collective, we believe our business is, and must be, a force for good; we’re a proud B Corp, campaigners for The Better Business Act and have made a pledge to be carbon neutral by 2025 (eek!). Continuous improvement is at our heart – it’s in our DNA. Every day, we strive to do better across our three impact pillars: people, planet and products…

We’re a bunch of foodies obsessed with delivering lip-smackin’ly tasty yoghurt and creating exciting eating experiences for all the family. We believe everyone deserves great tasting yoghurt, not just goop in a tub. Our best-in-the-biz Product Team use only the highest quality ingredients, all of which can usually be found in your kitchen at home – no artificial or hard-to-pronounce ingredients here.

We’re all about the people.  From the millions of yoghurt eaters out there, to those in the factory makin’ our goods, our suppliers, our retail partners, our community and our amazing team, we have a responsibility to do right by them all. That’s why we work hard to assess and review how we can best support our network of people and always put them at the heart of our business.

As well as our wonderful community and tantalisingly tasty products, our impact on the planet and our responsibility to protect it underpins everything we do. We proudly became B Corp certified back in 2020 and have worked tirelessly to keep improving each year. From cutting back on packaging and introducing rPet plastic, to launching 2 mind-blowing dairy free ranges, we continue to be pioneers in the industry, and we’re not stopping there…

It’s not an easy task, but we’ve made the bold step to commit to being ‘carbon neutral by 2025’ (eek, we said it again!). To make this happen, we’ve teamed up with Climate Partner to ensure we’ve looked at every single stage of our supply chain - little ‘n’ large. They’re keeping us on track - from the cows on the farm, to the transport all the way to the shops. From this, we could work out our footprint plus an extra 10%, just in case. Climate Partner have helped us find amazing projects, both in the UK and worldwide, who work to remove these emissions from the atmosphere. As of March 2023, we’re chuffed to say that a whopping 32% of our products are carbon neutral and we’re well on the way to adding more… watch this space.

Everything we do is underpinned by caring for our communities, taking responsibility for our effect on the planet, and creating ridiculously tasty products with the lowest possible impact. New challenges never seem to stop cropping up, but we’re proud to be tackling them aligned B Corp and our business values. It’s not easy, but we’ll keep committing ourselves to always be doing better for people and planet. We’re up for the journey ahead, knowing there’s plenty more to do, but proud of the epic milestones we’ve achieved so far.

The Uncommon

At The Uncommon, we make award-winning English sparkling wines. In cans. To some, it’s all a little unbelievable. Many believed English wine would never be good enough. Many still believe great wines should not be canned. So, for us, it’s not enough to be ‘good’. To dispel those myths, we need to be ‘unbelievably good’ in everything we do. From our winemaking all the way through to how we behave as a business and the impact we have. After all, England is now the most exciting sparkling wine region in the world, unhindered by old world rules, so it’s the perfect time to break tradition for the better.

THE UK’S FIRST B CORP WINEMAKER

When we started, our aim was to create a wine that had as little impact on the planet as possible. From field, to format, to flute. In 2021, we became the first B Corp winemaker in the UK. To be certified, we needed 80 points. We got 107.6. That’s better than any grade we got in school. Although the can is what we’re famous for, it was just the start.

IMPACTING WASTE, NOT TASTE

600,000 tons of glass bottles end up in landfill each year. That’s the weight of The Shard each and every week. On average, our cans will be recycled and back on shelf in 60 days. Our cans also have a carbon footprint 79% lower than a glass bottle (per ml of wine). That’s before even considering things like wine waste. UK households pour the equivalent of 17 million bottles of wine down the sink each year, unfinished. Our cans are single serve, eliminating that immediately. And yet, cans mean no compromise on taste. Our wines are made to be enjoyed fresh, not aged in a cellar. They keep wine fresher for longer, so when we took tradition out of the equation, they made immediate sense. It all just makes a lot of uncommon sense. But as we said, the can was just the start.

GROW LOCAL

We are committed to keeping things local. Our sparkling white is England’s answer to Sauvignon Blanc. Dry, fresh and aromatic. So why import Sauv B from New Zealand when we make something just as delicious right here? It’s 11,665 miles to New Zealand. The furthest our wine travels is 700 miles. And that’s only if you happen to live in John o’ Groats. We celebrate what’s possible right outside our doors.

TREAD LIGHT

We have reduced our impact where possible at every stage of production. Our vineyard in Kent uses only organic products on the land. We also plant wildflowers between the rows to increase biodiversity and have beehives in the vineyards to support the waning UK population of pollinators. Beyond the vineyard, our winery is SWGB (Sustainable Wines of Great Britain) accredited, our grape skins are reused as compost in the vineyards and our canning process is carbon positive, with on-site renewables giving back to the grid. Everything has been considered.

ACT LOCAL

We have no interest in greenwashing. Instead, we aim to create positive change in our local area, developing a long-term partnership with Kent Wildlife Trust. As part of that, we helped welcome wild bison back to the UK for the first time in 6000 years. These magnificent mega-herbivores have even made national news and Leonardo Di Caprio hasn’t stopped tweeting about it. The bison are ‘eco-system engineers’ and will transform dense commercial pine forests in West Blean into a vibrant natural woodland, creating a more climate resilient landscape.

THE FUTURE

We are continuing our work with Kent Wildlife trust towards 2030. We have committed 2% of our revenue to support Kent Wildlife Trust’s mission to wild 30% of the county by the end of the decade. We will also support the reintroduction of 2 more missing species over the next 5 years. There will be a whole lot more to come. When we act locally, we can impact globally.

Neat

Neat exists because they believe that people and the planet deserve better. They’re here to help protect our planet by creating innovative and beautiful home and personal care solutions that perform brilliantly, smell great and inspire everyone to make more sustainable choices.

The company was founded in 2020 by two friends who realised that cleaning products are made up of 90% water, and that’s a lot of water to be unnecessarily shipping around the world. So, they came up with a better solution. All of Neat’s products are concentrated and come in 30ml glass bottles, designed to be used with their super-durable, re-usable aluminium bottles and mixed with water at home. So, you can say goodbye to that single-use plastic too; their bottles are designed to last.

The latest products to join Neat’s exciting line-up of all purpose, antibacterial and bathroom cleaning products include two new refillable, foaming hand soaps. The business has already secured major nationwide deals with Tesco and Waitrose as well as other major retailers and convenience stores; continuing their mission to clean up the category and pave the way for more sustainable options for customers.

Neat is proud to have achieved B Corp certification thanks to its founders’ commitment to doing business responsibly, who shared that “B Corp is more than just a label to us, it's an ongoing framework for us to understand what we are doing well, and what we can improve to have an even greater impact.

Making responsible decisions on a social and environmental level has been in our DNA from the beginning, but it's important we continue to push boundaries and use our business as a force for good”

Rodda's

In 1890, our great-great-grandmother Eliza Jane Rodda started making Cornish clotted cream in her farmhouse kitchen in the heart of Cornwall. Now in its fifth generation, the business is still located where it all started, and although we have grown and adapted to new technologies, we still craft our cream in the same way we always have.

It all starts with sourcing our milk from Cornish farms certified by the Red Tractor Dairy Farm Assurance. Rich and creamy milk has been the foundation of all Rodda’s products for over 130 years and the partnership with the farms ensures a consistent high quality of milk across the Rodda’s product range.

Then, we gently bake the cream to make the tastiest and richest bits rise to the top, which creates its distinctive golden crust. Nothing beats breaking through it with a spoon to experience the smoothness of the cream below.

Rodda’s is the ultimate ingredient in the perfect cream tea: a timeless combination of freshly baked scone, sweet jam, and silky Cornish clotted cream. But it is also served with many hot and cold desserts, and is a great ingredient to add a touch of magic to both sweet and savoury dishes.

Today, Rodda's still is the leading brand of Cornish clotted cream and can be found in all major UK retailers, as well as independent food shops, hotels and restaurants, and as far afield as Japan. We are also very proud of having  achieved the prestigious and highly sought-after B Corp accreditation in January 2022, thanks to our community initiatives. We are always challenging ourselves to do better, and this accreditation, which rubberstamped the work we had always done, marked a defining moment in our company’s development.

Rodda’s mission since 1890 has been driven by a passion for Cornwall and its community, and it’s these values that embed our commitment to purpose beyond profit. This is why Rodda’s is so passionate about continuing to support local farming families, by carefully selecting local farms to supply the finest milk.

This accreditation wouldn’t have been possible without the work and support of the people working at Rodda’s creamery. It’s the dedication of our staff that is the real magic ingredient, and why we are dedicated to continuously invest in them.

Rodda’s also regularly donates products, time and make financial contributions to local and national charities and organization. This includes the Rodda’s senior management team directly, who regularly show their commitment by donating some of their time to volunteer in the community every year. Recent past examples have included supporting a gardening and DIY project, which was run by Volunteer Cornwall and Macmillian Cancer Support, launching running clubs, charity bike rides, arranging events such as a Macmillan Coffee morning and providing local donations of clotted cream to care homes at Christmas.

The Rodda’s family is dedicated to continually strive to do better for its team, the planet, and the people as well as for its customers, and to further embed in the B Corp community going forward.

We use premium 58% ethically sourced cocoa and never ever use palm oil or artificial flavourings within our chocolate, so that there is no harm done! In addition to this we are entirely plant-based, and gluten-free meaning more people can enjoy our products! We use our chocolate as a force for good through our partnership with 1% For The Planet whereby we give 1% of our revenue back and are proud to be a certified certified carbon neutral. We are always striving to do better by people and the planet, so were delighted to improve on our previous BCorp score to attain a score of 93.3. We do all of this while still providing fun and innovative products and formats that consumers love.

Emily

Our EMILY Thins use minimal ingredients and over 80% vegetables to prove that choosing healthier snack options doesn’t mean a compromise on taste. This also makes for appetising brightly coloured crisps with visible flecks of vegetables that truly stand out when compared to bland tortilla chips. We also go above and beyond in caring for our planet through being carbon neutral and being a certified BCorporation with an incredible score of 88.5. No-one sums up being a B Corporation better than our owner and founder of Nurture Brands, Ben Arbib, “The certification proves that we never settle for anything less than the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.” We were able to achieve this score through many factors, including the fact that over 50% of our EMILY workforce identify as female and the work we do in partnership with The Women’s Earth Alliance, to name just a few. We believe that when women thrive the world thrives, therefore we donate 1% of our revenue back to the Women’s Earth Alliance through 1% For The Planet and continue to partner with them on campaigns championing women.

Fiid

You know the drill. Mealtimes roll around and there’s so much going on that you just grab whatever is quick. Except, what’s quick isn’t always the best for us, right? There always seems to be a compromise.

We were convinced that there had to be a better way. Food that is quick and easy can be delicious. It can be created naturally with real food that we know and love and it doesn’t need to be filled with artificial flavours. Most of all, authentically healthy and convenient food shouldn’t be out of reach to anyone.

That’s why we created fiid. Made using only natural plant-based ingredients, packed full of vegetables and stored in your cupboard or pantry, fiid is the perfect partner for a busy, fast paced life. Think less sad af last-minute meals and more memorable midweek eats. Fiid was designed for how we live today.

With six different flavour bowls including a Smoky Black Bean Chilli, Sundried Tomato & Lentil Ragu and Chip Shop Curry to choose from, everything we make is 100% plant-based, all-natural, gluten free, packed with protein and fibre with 2 of your 5 a day of veggies.

In 2021 fiid became a certified B Corp and we’re committed to going beyond the status quo to make a better business, benefiting all people, communities, and the planet.

With your help, for every bowl we sell, we’re donating school meals to children in the developing world through our charity partner Mary’s Meals. We’re now feeding every single child every single day at the Mazongoza School in Malawi.

Fiid is the world’s first Carbon Neutral ready meal which means that 100% of the carbon emissions generated in the production and distribution of our bowls from cradle to grave is offset. To do this we support projects like the creation and distribution of clean cookstoves in Rwanda and wind energy in India.

Fiid is now one of the top 5 highest scoring food B Corps in the UK and is in the top 30 globally!

L.A Brewery

L.A Brewery is a collection of non-alcoholic drinks, made using a natural fermentation process with blends of tea, plants & flowers. Never pasteurised, all their drinks contain live cultures, organic acids and enhanced polyphenols produced as a result of the fermentation process.

Founder Louise first discovered kombucha while travelling and fell in love with the tart, sweet & moreish taste. On her return to London, she started selling homebrews in a restaurant where she worked and soon was approached by other local restaurants. She began a kitchen operation where she would deliver small cases of kombucha to people and restaurants on her bicycle.

Over time, their brewery has progressed from Louise tiny kitchen to a tiny space in Hackney (lovingly referred to as ‘the cupboard under the stairs’), to a nano-brewery in Hackney Wick, to a micro-brewery before finally landing in our current micro-brewery site in Suffolk. Their mission remains the same: to create delicious, craft non-alcoholic drinks that are good for you & the planet.

Why stock L.A Brewery:

•    100% ethically sourced & natural ingredients

•    Packed with friendly bacteria, low in calories, gluten free and vegan

•    HFSS friendly

•    Ambient storage

•    Sustainably brewed in Suffolk countryside.

L.A Brewery are proud to say their brewery runs on 100% dark green energy, fueled by a bio digester that converts local organic waste into energy
